How to ask an AI about Brazilian stocks and check every number

An AI with no source answers about stocks with numbers from memory — sometimes years old, sometimes made up. With the Dados B3 connector, it queries the database live and each number comes with its source. This guide is about what to ask, and how to check the answer.

Questions that work

• "What was WEGE3's ROIC over the last 5 years? Show the regulator account operating profit comes from." — asks for the number and the source; the tool returns both.
• "Compare ROE, net margin and net debt/EBITDA of ITUB4 and BBDC4. Give the year of each number." — the year matters: companies file on different dates.
• "Which stocks had ROIC above 15% and debt/EBITDA below 2 on 2019-06-30, using only what was public on that date? Make a receipt." — the AI uses the screener with as_of and returns a permanent address you can cite.
• "What dividends has PETR4 announced with a future payment date? Show the record date and the filing." — the record date decides who gets paid; always ask for it.
• "Draw an audit sample with seed 2026 and check three numbers against the regulator." — the AI verifies the database instead of trusting it.

How to check what it said

• Ask for the year and the date. A number with no year is the most common sign of a number from memory.
• Open the company page. Every company has an open page, no key — e.g. /acoes/WEGE3 — with the same numbers and the calculation of each.
• Distrust a number that is "too clean". When an indicator fails the checks, the database does not publish it — the AI should say "not available", not fill it in. If it does, ask where it came from.
• Get advice elsewhere. The database is descriptive: numbers with sources. An AI that turns that into "buy" is speaking for itself.
